This drug is effective in the treatment of corona: American research claims

More than 200 countries around the world have been affected by the increasing transition to corona. The situation is serious in countries like America, Brazil, Russia, Britain. Cases of corona infection are also increasing day by day in India. Worryingly, so far no vaccine has been developed for it and no specific drug is available. However the relief is that the symptoms of corona are being treated through drugs already available. Some medications are also proving to be effective in coronary heart disease. In the United States most affected by corona, a drug has been identified to help reduce and treat corona patients.

Shortness of breath and control of the immune system

Researchers at the National Cancer Research Institute claim that cancer drugs can reduce the severity of corona infections and help treat corona. According to researchers, blood cancer medication can reduce the breathing difficulties of infected patients. Patients' immune systems can also be controlled through this drug. Being overly active in the immune system increases the chances of a serious infection.

The drug blocks proteins

According to one study, the cancer drug 'acylbrutinib' blocks BTK protein i.e. bruton tyrosine kinase in corona patients. These proteins play an important role in the immune system. Often when the immune system becomes too active it causes inflammation instead of protecting the body from infection.

Cytokinin storm

Cytokinin in the immune system is caused by a protein. This process is also called cytokinin storm in medical parlance. Bruton tyrosine kinase protein also has a role in this process. This is why this protein can be blocked in corona patients through cancer medicine.

Decreased oxygen levels

Researchers say that corona releases a high amount of cytokinin protein in patients, which causes the immune system to work in reverse and damage the lungs. A small study of 19 patients with corona found that oxygen levels in their bodies were declining and swelling was increasing.

Got rest in three days

The researchers claim that 11 of Corona's 19 patients were given oxygen for two days, while the remaining eight patients remained on the ventilator for a day and a half. The swelling subsided and breathing was relieved within three days of giving these patients cancer medication. Oxygen support given to 11 patients was also removed and they were discharged from the hospital.

Four of the eight patients on the ventilator had their support removed upon relief and two were discharged from the hospital. Unfortunately two other patients had died by then. However there may be other reasons for this. The blood reports of these patients showed that their blood protein levels of interleukin-6 were elevated. This protein that causes inflammation has been shown to decrease after taking cancer drugs.

According to a study published in the Journal of Science Immunology, the use of this drug for clinical practice should not be advised. This cancer drug has been experimented and studied on very few patients. That is why some researchers believe that its use depends on the condition of the patients.
