The Corona virus, which originated in the Chinese city of Wuhan, has today become an epidemic worldwide. Today, half the world's people are trapped in their homes because of a lockdown caused by the Corona virus. People depend on the internet.

People depend on the internet. School and college classes are also being arranged online. In the midst of all this a new trend of telemedicine has started. Nowadays when the word is trending a lot, let's find out what is telemedicine.

Telemedicine means treating by phone or video call. The World Health Organization has also advised telemedicine in case of lockdown, so that people gather less in the hospital. The trend of telemedicine may also start in India.

What is the Government of India's guideline for telemedicine?
The health ministry met with the policy commission last month to issue a guideline on telemedicine. Under which only registered medical practitioner can treat with telemedicine. In it the doctor can treat the patient through video, text message, email and audio call. The government’s guideline is giving telemedicine startups a new direction.

The number of patients in the hospital will be halved
Last year, McKinsey Digital India released a report stating that the telemedicine model could halve the number of patients coming to the hospital, as it costs 30 per cent less to consult a doctor at home than to go to the hospital and see a doctor. It is estimated that telemedicine could save between Rs 300 billion and Rs 375 billion by 2025. From an early stage, India has been included in the list of top 10 countries in the world in terms of telemedicine.

Telemedicine was first used in 1970
According to the World Health Organization, the term telemedicine was first coined in 1970. At that time, the disease was identified and treated on the phone. In telemedicine, the patient is also seen through video calling and the medicine is given based on the data of the blood pressure monitor. Thus in telemedicine the doctor tries to treat the patient by sitting away. This is happening in Coroni's epidemic. People are getting information about Corona's symptoms by showing symptoms from the chatbot.
