Is the Antarctic Ocean the purest air in the world?

New York, June 3, 2020, Wednesday

Air pollution was reduced by the lockdown to prevent the transmission of the corona virus. The water of rivers and springs also became pure and wild animals began to roam freely. Increasing use of chemical farming and modern equipment in rural areas and industrialization and modernization in urban areas are polluting the air. According to the World Health Organization, 80 percent of the population in most of the world's cities breathes unclean air. Unclean air also increases the risk of heart, stroke and lung disease.

A total of more than 7 million deaths worldwide are caused by unclean air. People living in the city are accustomed to taking in fresh air but there is also a place in the world whose air has been completely clean. Cleaning the air in some places with economic losses in the Corona was a major achievement but the cleanest air flows over the Sardin Ocean in the Antarctic Ocean. Researchers at the University of Colorado in the United States have found that human activity has no effect on the air in the area, and that no aerosol particles are found in the air flowing over the Southern Ocean. For this, air samples were taken from the marine boundary level which is in direct contact with the ocean. The microbes from the atmosphere and the microbes from the air were then compared.

Researching microbes in the air on almost every ocean in the world was found but not found here. However DNA sequencing, source tracking, windbank trajectories revealed that the microbes in the air were oceanic. Aerosols floating in the air are spread by human activities such as particle fuels, industries, crop cultivation, fertilizers, and waste disposal while this is a place where no traces of polluted air can be seen.

Air pollution is caused by aerosols. Solid waste and liquid particles or gases are constantly flying in the air. The researchers identified airborne toxins by bacteria found in the air. The atmosphere of Sardan Ocean, which controls aerosols, is strongly associated with biological processes. Thus the place is still left in Antarctica due to the proliferation of microorganisms and nutrients.
