Trials of hydroxychloroquine in the treatment of corona will resume: WHO

The World Health Organization (WHO) has decided to reintroduce the hydroxychloroquine drug used in the treatment of malaria as a trial in the treatment of corona. The trial of hydroxychloroquine will be resumed on Wednesday, World Health Organization President Tedros Adnom Gabreyes said.

Earlier, the World Health Organization (WHO) had stopped the trial of hydroxychloroquine, saying it was harmful to health. During a virtual news briefing, Tedros said, "Given the available death toll, the executive group will inform principal investigators about resuming trials of hydroxychloroquine."

The trial of the drug was halted last week due to security concerns. A report said there was no evidence that hydroxychloroquine was beneficial and that the health organization had since banned it.

This drug called hydroxychloroquine is used to treat malaria. Most of the companies manufacturing this drug are based in India. Last month, India lifted the ban on the drug at the request of US President Trump.
