WHO's U-turn: Corona is not spread by asymptomatic patients. It was our misdemeanor

New delhi date. 12 June 2020, Friday

The situation is getting worse in many countries of the world amid increasing transmission of Corona virus. Many medical experts around the world have acknowledged that asymptomatic patients are also responsible for the rapid growth of coronary heart disease, but the World Health Organization (WHO) has a different view. The WHO said people without symptoms do not spread corona. Which was also objected to by several experts. Now, in just two days, the WHO has hit back at the U-turn on its own opinion, calling it a misconception.

The World Health Organization (WHO) says the trend of spreading corona infections around the world suggests that asymptomatic patients do not transmit corona virus. Such cases are rare. And in just two days, he clarified his statement and said that this was a misrepresentation. WHO epidemiologist Dr. Maria Wayne made this clear in her statement.

June 8 statement:

This asymptomatic patient is not the cause of the way corona infections are increasing in the world. Such cases are rare. Young people and other healthy people in particular do not have symptoms of this infection or have very few symptoms. At present our focus is only on symptomatic patients: Dr. Maria Wayne, Epidemiologist, WHO

Statement dated June 9:

I used a very rare word which was a misconception. We currently have no answers. At the time I was answering questions at a press conference. I was just trying to convey what I understood. What I said at the time was based on research and study. : Dr. Maria Wayne, Epidemiologist, WHO

Statement dated June 10:

Further research is needed in the case of asymptomatic patients. This is a new virus. The World Health Organization is constantly learning something new in this regard. The complexities associated with this virus are not easy to understand but this is our responsibility and accountability: General Tedros Adhanom, WHO President

The World Health Organization initially outlined the possibility of coronary heart disease transmission from three types of patients:

Symptomatic: People who have symptoms of corona and spread the infection from one patient to another.

Pre-symptomatic: Corona infection can spread even before the virus is infected and symptoms appear. Its time limit is the incubation period of the virus i.e. 14 days. It does not show the symptoms of direct corona. But a general fever, a pain-like symptom in the body is seen early.

Asymptomatic: in which no symptoms of any kind are seen but they are corona positive and the infection can spread. It has been under discussion for the last several days.

Corona infection is spread from one person to another

When an infected person coughs or sneezes, the infection spreads through their droplets. These droplets can also spread the infection if they stick to a surface. It is possible that the infected person may not have the symptom.

Dr. Maria Wayne's statement was followed by condemnation from the WHO. According to an American infectious disease expert, who's opinion was wrong. The organization had to change its statement, as it had no evidence to back up its claim. "We have evidence that 45 to 25 percent of all corona patients have no symptoms and can infect healthy people," the American expert said.

People can distance themselves from symptomatic patients and defend themselves. But those who do not show any symptoms have no choice but to undergo a corona test. A few days ago, an elderly man from a house in Delhi was infected with corona, but he did not show any symptoms. When a young member of his family became infected, a test of the entire family revealed that other members of the household had also contracted the corona.

It is therefore clear that the infection can spread even from asymptomatic patients. Epidemiologist Prof. of the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. According to Liam Smith, this is contrary to my understanding of science. Patients who do not show symptoms may also pass the infection on to others. That is why people need to be careful.
