Gandhiji also did many kinds of experiments on his diet. He has also mentioned about these experiments in Young India and Harijan newspapers. It has been compiled into a book 'Diet and Diet Reform' which has been published by Gandhi Sevagram. Mahatma Gandhi also used to get information about a proper diet plan through correspondence with food and diet experts from home and abroad.

Morning-evening lemon and honey

Gandhiji drank lemon juice and honey in warm water in the morning and evening. In addition, their diet included about 90 grams of sprouted wheat per day. In addition, Gandhiji drank 200 ml of milk every day. Gandhiji liked goat's milk. When Lord Mountbatten, the last Viceroy, met Gandhiji, he also gave Mountbatten goat's milk. In addition to goat and cow's milk, they also drank coconut milk.

Fresh fruit

Gandhiji's diet also included 22 grams of ghee per day. Gandhiji also loved to eat fruit. Gandhiji used to consume 230 kilograms of fresh fruits in his diet every day. Cashews and almonds were also included in Gandhiji's diet. They ate 90 grams of almond halva and 11 grams of beans daily. It is worth mentioning that almonds protect against many diseases like heart disease and diabetes.

Focus on exercise

According to the book, he always followed a vegetarian diet and exercised because he believed that exercise was as important to the mind and body as food was to the mind, bones and flesh.
