There will be a gap of 3 days between the first and second dose of the vaccine: Gularia

New Delhi, Dt

The corona vaccine is eagerly awaited in India and a panel of experts approved the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine at a meeting on Friday when AIIMS director Dr. Randeep Guleria said that a gap of 3 days between the first and second dose of the vaccine is safe.

Dr. "As chair of the committee of experts, we have developed various criteria for vaccination on a priority basis, according to which frontline warriors, including doctors, nurses and police who are most at risk in the fight against corona, will be vaccinated first," Guleria said. The government plans to vaccinate more than 200 million people in India in six to eight months. In addition to frontline warriors, people with diabetes, terminal illness, and respiratory illness will be vaccinated first.

He added that if a person has diabetes, but it is under control and a person has been on insulin for 10 years, a patient with more severe diabetes will be vaccinated first. In addition, the dose of Corona vaccine will come in two portions, with an interval of 3 days between the first and second doses. This distance is safe. In Britain, too, there is a 6-day gap between the two doses. He added that vaccines from companies including Oxford-AstraZeneca, Pfizer, Bharat Biotech, Zydus Cadila are likely to be approved in the country soon. In such circumstances it is not advisable to take different doses of corona vaccine. Regarding the cost of the corona vaccine, Dr. Gularia said the government is currently co-sponsoring the cost of the vaccine. Therefore, the vaccination program in the country will be carried out as part of the government's other vaccination program initiatives. So the cost of the vaccine will be normal.
