People taking antibiotics cannot donate blood

Patients with diabetes and high blood pressure should avoid donating blood.

Breastfeeding women should also avoid donating blood.

People below 18 years and above 65 years should not donate blood.

Do this before donating blood

- Eat a light meal and sleep well the night before the day you are to donate blood.

- Avoid eating fatty food, junk food, ice cream, fries burger, meat-fish.

- Drink plenty of water before donating blood.

- Do not drink alcohol the night before donating blood.
