There are certain things that can be soaked in water to give us more nutrition. Like we cook rajma, chhole etc. by soaking them in water but apart from this many grains, pulses, fruits and vegetables are soaked in water and their nutrition is doubled.

Rice

Rice naturally contains a chemical called arsenic. If we cook rice directly, arsenic harms our body, but if we soak rice for 3-4 hours in water, the arsenic content is reduced. Also, soaking makes the vitamins and minerals present in the rice more active. This helps in keeping our body healthy. Soaked rice also improves our digestion.

Fruits and vegetables

Did you know that we should soak fruits and vegetables in water for some time before eating them as this removes the harmful substances present in them? Fruits and vegetables contain certain substances that can make our body sick, but when we soak them in water, they come out. Fruits and vegetables contain certain toxic substances and chemicals called thermogenic properties. This can be harmful to our health. So it should be soaked and eaten. It keeps our stomach healthy and also keeps our skin healthy.

Dal is a major source of protein in our diet but did you know that soaking dal is more nutritious and beneficial than eating it directly. Dal contains certain elements called antinutrients, which hinder the absorption of nutrients by the body, but if we soak the dal in water for 4 to 5 hours, these antinutrients are destroyed.
