how to check blood pressure: It is necessary to check periodically whether our body is correct or not. As BP does not work properly. Because if BP is not working properly i.e. becomes high or low then other diseases can occur in the body. Some people check their BP at home to see if their BP is high or low, isn't it? Along with keeping BP under control, we should eat well and make our life style right. High blood pressure in the body can lead to a heart attack. It is not possible to go to the hospital for BP check every day, so we can also do BP check at home.

These numbers should be used to measure high BP and low BP

Blood pressure range should be 120/80 mmHg. When a person's blood pressure falls below 90/60, the condition is called low BP or hypotension. Also, if the BP becomes more than 140/90, it is called high blood pressure.

A few things should be kept in mind while measuring BP at home

  • If you start shaking and trembling in the arm while checking BP, check the BP in the other arm
  • Brace the arm between the wrist bands with the BP device so that the arm remains straight. Hold it flat on the table while tying in the hand. This will give you the right measurement.
  • Do not drink tea or coffee half an hour before BP check, as it may affect the measurement number.
  • While checking BP sit straight on a chair at home, BP can be checked thrice in a day
  • Do not take any medicine before BP check, if you have taken medicine then do BP check after one hour
  • Do not check BP immediately after exercise or bathing. Remain relaxed for 5-10 minutes after BP check.
  • Fix a specific time to check BP
  • Do not get angry or talk while checking BP.
