Bihar: A 65-year-old woman gave birth to 8 babies in 14 months

Whether it is fodder scam or flood relief money, Bihar is famous for various scams. Now a new scandal was added. Even the top doctors are amazed to know this. One woman gave birth to eight babies in just 14 months, according to government records. If you are surprised after reading this much, read on. The woman is 65 years old.

In the medical world, any woman between the ages of 18 and 35 and with fertility treatment like IVF can give birth to a child for a maximum of fifty years. Three or four babies can be born at a time with such fertility treatment. But how can a 65-year-old woman give birth to eight babies at once in just 14 months? An inquiry into the matter revealed that the scam was hatched in the guise of seeking financial assistance from the Bihar state government when the daughter was born.

The National Health Mission was also reportedly involved in the scam. The incident took place in Mushhari taluka of Bihar's Muzaffarpur district. Financial assistance is provided by the National Health Mission to promote the birth of a daughter. This was done to get help. At least two intermediaries gave birth to eight girls on paper and grabbed a good amount. There are many elderly women in Bihar who are not in a position to become mothers in any way. Such women obtain money from the National Health Mission by submitting bogus birth certificates.

This was revealed by a police complaint lodged by Upendra Chaudhary, in-charge of Masuhari Primary Health Center. Until then, the 65-year-old woman with the National Health Mission continued to send financial aid to Lila Devi. Rs 1400 is paid to each woman on the birth of a girl. This amount is directly deposited in the bank account of the concerned woman. Rs 11,200 was deposited in Liladevi's bank account for eight girls. Now the police had launched an investigation.
