Pesticide spraying is harmful to human health: WHO

New Delhi, Sunday 17 May 2020

Pesticides should not be sprayed in open places to prevent corona virus, this has no effect on corona virus and on the contrary it can be harmful to people's health.

The warning was issued on Saturday by the World Health Organization (WHO). The WHO says there is no benefit to disinfecting sprays or fumigation in the streets and markets as it becomes inactive due to dust and dirt.

According to the WHO, a person can get serious illness if sprayed directly. The WHO says that disinfectants should not be sprayed on the human body as this can lead to physical and mental harm.

The WHO says spraying on the streets or marketplaces is not recommended to kill the corona virus or other pathogens as the dust and debris inactivates the disinfectant.

The WHO document states that pesticides can be physically and mentally harmful. Spraying fluorine or other toxic chemicals on people can cause inflammation of the eyes and skin, bronchospasm and gastrointestinal effects.

If pesticides are to be used, they should be used with a garment or by yourself. That way it won’t be harmful.
