Beijing, July 9, 2020, Thursday
China, which has clashed with many countries in the world, including India and the US, has now begun efforts to get closer to Russia.
Amid the siege by India and China, Chinese President Xi Jinping spoke by phone with Russian President Vladimir Putin. In his talks with Putin, Jinping called for increased cooperation and contacts between the two countries.
The talks between Jinping and Putin come at a time when China's relations with the United States are deteriorating rapidly and there are tensions between China and India.
Just five days ago, PM Modi telephoned Chinese President Xi Jinping and congratulated him on his victory in the referendum.
In his talks with Putin, Jinping said that China wants to maintain cooperation with Russia as well as security and development interests of both countries. China has always supported Russia's path to development. China will also strengthen cooperation with Russia at the international level.
