New Delhi Dated 4th January 2021 Monday
Various rumors have been circulating in the Muslim community about the corona vaccine for some time now. Now Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, the largest Muslim organization, has announced that the corona vaccine is also suitable for Muslims.
There is no need to be overwhelmed by the rumors about this vaccine. Some people were deliberately spreading rumors about Haram-Halal vaccine. It was clarified by Jamaat-e-Islami Hind that there was no need to get involved in such talks. Dr Rabi-ul-Islam Nadvi, general secretary of the Sharia Council of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, said there was nothing wrong with using what was considered haraam in Islam to be converted into something else and could save human life.
Dr Nadvi said that if halal vaccine was not available in case of emergency, haraam vaccine could also be taken to save lives.
It is pertinent to note here that since pig's blood was used in making the corona vaccine, there were rumors circulating that it could not be taken by Muslims. The result was a dilemma among Muslims as to whether we could get the corona vaccine. Dr. Nadavi's statement becomes important in this connection.
Dr Nadvi said details of the chemicals used in the vaccine have not yet been released. So from now on it cannot be said that vaccine is haraam. The vaccine that is currently available can be used to save lives until full details are made public.
In fact, rumors of the vaccine being banned were first circulating in Malaysia and Indonesia. Such a rumor was circulating from the Raza Academy in Mumbai, India. Raza Academy protested against the use of the vaccine. They argued that pork gelatin was haraam because it was used in vaccines. However Raza Academy could not prove the fact that pork gelatin was used in the vaccine.
