Two corona vaccines approved in India, vaccination will start soon

For the third day in a row in the new year, the countrymen have received two corona vaccines simultaneously to combat the corona epidemic. On Sunday in the new year, the Drug Controller General of India (DGCI) has approved Oxford-Geneca's Covishield and Bharat Biotech's Covacin for emergency use. Cadila Healthcare has also been approved for a third phase of clinical trials in India. The vaccination program will now start in the country with the announcement of the central government. Prime Minister Modi and the World Health Organization have congratulated the country on the approval of these vaccines.

Both vaccines are completely safe, according to DCGI. Two doses will be given during vaccination. Earlier, the Subject Expert Committee (CEC) recommending emergency use of both the vaccines in Corona had given green signal to both the vaccines for emergency use with certain conditions, which were finalized by the DCGI on Sunday.

The vaccine developed by Oxford University and AstraZeneca is being produced in India by the Serum Institute under the name Covishield, while the indigenous vaccine Covacin has been developed by Bharat Biotech and the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR). With the approval of DCGI, both the corona vaccines will be used in the country as soon as the date is announced by the central government.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated the countrymen and scientists after both the vaccines were approved. He tweeted, ‘A crucial moment in India’s war against the global epidemic. The DCGI approval of the Serum Institute of India and Bharat Biotech vaccine will give impetus to the campaign for a healthy and covid free India. The central government said that about 1,12,100 vaccinators were trained in six sessions during mock drills in all the states and union territories across the country.
