By 2020, 2.50 billion people worldwide will have deafness

New York, Monday, January 7, 2021

Increasing noise pollution and noisy lifestyles have had the opposite effect on hearing. According to the World Health Organization and the World Hearing Report, by 2050, there will be 2.50 billion people in the world with deafness, which means that one in four people will suffer from ear disease, which is a very serious matter. Of these, 400 million will be hospitalized for hearing-related pain. As far as India is concerned, hearing problems in India are present in 4.5 per cent of the total population, of which children in addition to the age group were found to have this problem in 3 per cent. Economic and social changes occur in the lives of people with hearing problems

Not only this, it also has an adverse effect on physical and mental health. Sometimes not paying attention to an ear problem can make it worse. In most countries, ear disease is not closely linked to national health and services. Ear diseases and human resources are directly linked. In low-income countries, the prevalence is about 5 percent, compared to one ear, nose and throat specialist for every one million. However, there are more experts in developed countries and economically prosperous areas, while the number is much lower in economically backward and middle-income areas. Most ear problems can be treated with medication or surgery. By keeping the ears clean and caring and adopting a calm and healthy lifestyle, hearing related diseases can be prevented.
