In the treatment of corona, 7% of the patients died due to secondary infection in the hospital

New Delhi, May 7, 2021, Monday

The second wave of corona virus is being relieved while a plague called black fungus has reared its head. The black fungus has also become an epidemic like the corona and its cases are increasing day by day. Black fungus is also called mucor mycosis. After black fungus, white fungus, now patients with yellow fungus have also come to mind. However the number of black fungus patients is higher compared to white and yellow. According to one source, more than 3,000 patients in India are suffering from myocardial infarction. For whom the patient and his relatives are in trouble due to lack of adequate medicines and treatment. The black fungus thus existed even before the novel Corona but its transition to the Corona period has increased.

A study by ICMR claims that at least 2.5 per cent of patients with a second wave of corona have a secondary bacterial or fungal infection. According to the study, the mortality rate of patients with secondary infections has increased to 7.5 per cent. The mortality rate for those with a secondary infection in a hospital was 7.8 percent. According to the author of a scientific and research paper in the Department of Epidemiology and Communicable Diseases of ICMR, the highest number of deaths in secondary infections are in hospitals at 7%. The onset of the infection was reported two to three days after he was admitted to the hospital. Most of the samples contained negative bacteria that were responsible for the infection in the hospital. This was seen during the Corona epidemic as hospitals were reckless in maintaining an infection-free environment.

Precise rules were not followed in this direction. The use of PPE kits in double glazing and heated environments did not get much attention on hand hygiene. The study further stated that the pathogens that caused the infection were Klebsiella pneumoniae and Asinatobacter baumanii. E. coli in general was the most commonly seen pathogen in previous reports. Pathogenic Klebsiella pneumoniae and Acinetobacter baumani are both such that the treatment of the infection is difficult because most contain genes with immune potential. Hospitals therefore need to pay more attention to infection control. However, the report does not say anything about fungal mycorrhizae.
