Nowadays, in addition to sedentary life, one has to constantly sit in one place due to working style. One has to work for hours sitting on computer and laptop. According to a study, sitting in one place for more than 10 hours a day increases the risk of heart attack. Experts believe that people who sit for 10 hours a day are more likely to have heart disease and stroke than those who work 5 to 6 hours a day.
The muscles of the lower body, especially the back and abdomen, are weakened. The sooner the digestive glands become more active in the pancreas, the more insulin is produced.
This hormone cannot be used due to inactivation of muscle tissue while sitting which leads to serious diseases like diabetes. The condition of the spinal cord decreases in the long run. There is also a risk of weight gain from sedentary work.
Decreased physical activity also increases the risk of diseases such as osteoporosis. Typing on a computer causes tension in the neck muscles which makes the neck hard. This causes pain in the shoulders and back. Sitting too much also slows down the brain processes.
As the muscles remain inactive, the supply of blood and oxygen to the brain is reduced, which adversely affects the functioning of the brain. This is because constant sitting disturbs muscles, bones, blood sugar levels and blood pressure. Sitting still can lead to blood clots
In such cases, it is advisable to avoid excessive daily sitting. The best solution is to break your fears or problems into a series of smaller steps. It is beneficial to take short walks during breaks. If it is mandatory to sit for 10 hours a day as part of a job or business, then routine health check-ups are required.
