Some studies have found that regular daily walking is very beneficial for fitness. Walking instead of dieting or other measures can also help you lose weight. The American Heart Association believes that 30 minutes of exercise a day is good for the heart, but it takes a lot of effort to lose body fat like the belly.

A California laboratory in the Life Sciences Division found that walking reduces the risk of high blood pressure, high cholesterol and diabetes. This also reduces the risk of heart disease and stroke. It is beneficial for a person to walk at least 10,000 steps daily.
