We all massage the head and hands and feet, but did you know that massaging the soles of the feet also has many benefits. Massaging the soles of the feet relieves tiredness, insomnia, stress throughout the day and also provides restful sleep. Not only this, the lighting of the eyes also remains good. Foot massage is considered very important in our Ayurveda. If you regularly massage the soles of your feet while sleeping at night, it will refresh you throughout the day and keep away from many diseases.

An Ayurvedic massage therapist has given detailed information about massaging the soles of the feet on social media and said that padabhyanga i.e. foot massage can cure gas problems. Not only this, there are many nerves in the legs, which are connected to the eyes. When we massage the feet, the health of the eyes also improves. In fact the human body is also like a tree, in which the feet act as the roots and when we massage the feet, the whole body gets the benefit of the massage.

Which oil should be used?

You can use any oil to massage your feet, but as per some tips given by Ayurvedic physicians, oil can help your constitution a lot. Sesame oil is traditionally used to soothe, but coconut oil and mustard oil can also be used to balance specific issues.

The right way to massage

  • - First heat oil or ghee and take it on the palm. If you want, you can add peppermint oil to it.
  • - Now apply the oil all over the soles of the feet and massage on the heel bones of both the feet in a circular motion.
  • - Now massage the top and bottom of the heel and gently pull the toes upwards.
  • - Now press and massage the front part of the foot with both hands.
  • - Massage using your thumbs.
  • - It will relieve foot pain associated with plantar fasciitis.
  • - Now gently stretch and massage each toe of your foot.
  • - Now using a closed fist, massage the feet up and down.
  • -Massage the top and bottom of the feet with pressure with both hands.
  • - Massage your toes and heels carefully.
  • - Massage the entire foot and wear socks to keep warm.
