Many such trees and plants are mentioned in Ayurvedic texts, which are widely used in making medicine. One such is this miraculous plant, its fruit is known as Gheenguru. This mountain fruit is popularly known as Ghingharu in Kumaoni, Ghingharu and Ghingharu in Garhwali and Ghingharu in Nepali. Gingharu fruits look like small red apples, also called Himalayan red berry, firethorn apple or white thorn. However, its botanical name is known as Pyracantha crenulata

Gingharu is rich in protein

The fruit is mildly sour, pungent and sweet in taste. Dhingaru is rich in protein. The small fruits of Gingharu are arranged in bunches. However, when ripe in August or September, they turn orange or dark red. Its plant is medium in size and has spiny branches and dark colored leaves. This plant is found in mountainous areas with an altitude of 500 to 2700 meters.

Beneficial in toothache

The twigs of the ginger tree are most commonly used to relieve toothache. Regular use of its twigs in the teeth brings shine to the teeth and also relieves toothache. Most of the people in the hilly areas use it.

Lowers cholesterol

Gingharu, a medicinal fruit found on the hills, is a good source of protein. In such a situation, this fruit must be consumed to keep the health healthy. In fact, the medicinal properties of ginger help in reducing the amount of harmful cholesterol in the blood.

Improves blood circulation in the heart

The bioflavonoids present in this ginger fruit work effectively in improving blood circulation in the heart. Along with this, it also protects the blood vessels from destruction. Apart from this, it is also able to facilitate the blood flow to the brain, due to which memory is enhanced.
