Thus, vegetables are called the treasure of health, but vegetables also have different effects on people. There are certain vegetables which can increase blood sugar very quickly. Meanwhile, when the number of diabetic patients is increasing rapidly in the world, diabetic patients should also pay special attention to the consumption of vegetables.
Health experts advise that diabetic patients should not consume certain vegetables. Especially vegetables that grow under the soil, such vegetables should be excluded from the diet of diabetics.
Diabetic patients should not consume these vegetables
Health experts say that those vegetables which have a high glycemic index should not be consumed by sugar i.e. diabetic patients. Such vegetables go into the body and increase the blood sugar level, which can worsen the health of the diabetic patient. Which includes potatoes, corn, sweet corn, sweet potato, and sorrel. These vegetables have a very high glycosemic index and are also very high in carbohydrates which are harmful for diabetics.
Vegetables that grow above ground are beneficial
Health experts say that root vegetables, i.e. vegetables that grow underground, contain more carbohydrates that raise blood sugar levels, while low-carbohydrate vegetables that grow above ground, contain fewer carbohydrates that are effective in controlling blood sugar. Meanwhile, try to include green vegetables in your diet. Green vegetables like spinach, cauliflower, green peas and broccoli should be consumed in abundance. Apart from this, consumption of vegetables like tomato, beans, brinjal, mushroom, onion and cucumber keeps blood sugar under control.
