Chickenpox is an infectious disease caused by the varicella-zoster virus. Scientists have found a new variant of this deadly chickenpox in India. This variant of chickenpox is being called clade 9. This disease spread by varicella zoster virus has already spread from India to countries like America, Britain and Germany. After the case of a new variant of chickenpox was found in India, people have become worried.

When do chickenpox lesions appear?

- Coughs and sneezes may contain the virus. Meanwhile, cover your mouth and nose well while coughing or sneezing.

- Wash hands regularly with soap and water.

- Do not share items like towels, clothes and utensils with someone suffering from chickenpox.

- A strong immune system can help prevent infection. Try to ensure that you and your family member eat a healthy diet and get enough sleep.

What to do if chickenpox occurs

- Applying calamine lotion on the skin can relieve itching caused by chickenpox

- Bathe with cold water to relieve itching.

- Apart from this, applying a cold, wet cloth on the affected parts relieves itching.
