Today, medical science has found a cure for the biggest disease. Even for a global epidemic like Corona, a vaccine has been discovered in just one year. But there are still some horrible diseases on this earth, for which medical science has no answer. Amitabh Bachchan's film 'Pa' has also talked about such a horrible disease. But today we are going to talk to you about a rare disease, the victim of which is an 18-year-old boy living in Boston, England. This boy's name is Rhys Williams. You can't think but the condition of this boy will make you shudder.
If even a point of ordinary paper is touched on the skin, blood comes out
Rice was born with a disease called Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB), meaning butterfly. which is a terrible disease connected with the skin. Due to this disease, Rice's skin is so thin that even a touch of ordinary paper causes blood to flow out. Not only that, in general itching, masses of mass come out of the body. And everyday he is living with the pain of his body. However, doctors say that now he has only a few days left to live.
By the time he turned 13, he had planned the funeral himself
Presently speaking, his parents said that now we are making plans for Rice's last rites. He said that when he was born, the doctors said that this child would survive for 10 years. But by the time he turned 13, he had planned his own funeral, so that he would be ready when his death approached.
At present, he cannot even be intubated for artificial respiration
It's been 18 years since he fought against all odds this September 2023, but after the last few weeks he developed sepsis and pneumonia. He was then taken to the hospital on November 4, but the doctors said that there is no cure for him now, so the treatment has been stopped altogether. According to the doctor, his body is so fragile that even a tube for artificial respiration cannot be put in him.
What is this butterfly disease?
Butterfly is called epidermolysis bullosa in medical science. A child usually gets this disease at birth. 1 in 50 thousand children worldwide have this disease. And after falling victim to the disease, the child dies within 5 years. This disease has three stages. The first is EB simplex, which is a superficial ulceration of the skin. It affects 70 percent of patients. Another is dystrophic EB, which causes a rash below the skin level, affecting 25 percent of patients. And thirdly, junctional EB, in which a rash occurs at the subdermal level, is usually very severe.
