In winter, most of the people suffer from cold, cough. Phlegm accumulates in the chest. This increases the problem. Sometimes breathing becomes difficult due to tightness in the chest. A prolonged lung infection increases the risk of pneumonia. Many a times, the phlegm in the chest becomes so tight that it becomes difficult to sleep comfortably at night. If you have phlegm in your chest, drink this desi decoction. You will get relief within 3-4 days.

Brewing material

1 inch piece of ginger, 8-10 black pepper, 8-10 basil leaves, one big cinnamon leaf, 1 piece of green turmeric, 1 stick of cinnamon, 1 big piece of jaggery, 1 glass of water.

How to make a decoction

To prepare the decoction, first boil water in a pan.

Now add basil leaves, cinnamon leaves, black pepper, green turmeric.

Add cinnamon, jaggery and ginger to the water and let it boil.

You have to boil the decoction for about 20 minutes until it changes color.

When the water is about half a glass, strain it in a glass and drink it hot.

You have to drink this decoction continuously for 3-4 days. It will remove the problem of cold, cough and phlegm.

Benefits of drinking the decoction

The ingredients used in the decoction help keep the body warm and thin the phlegm. Green turmeric is used in this. Turmeric contains a compound called curcumin that loosens phlegm. Ginger helps in clearing phlegm. It contains antibacterial and antioxidant properties that help fight infection. Eating black pepper reduces cold and cough. It loosens the accumulated phlegm in the lungs. Cinnamon leaves are also hot.
