Corona positive will be discharged if no fever symptoms appear for 10 days

New Delhi, May 22, 2020, Friday

Corona virus infection is spreading very fast in the country. The number is increasing from 3000 to 4000 patients every day. The number of people with coronary heart disease in India has crossed one lakh but with the exception of 48533 who have recovered, there are currently 66303 active cases while more than 3500 people have died. The lockdown is being implemented in the country till May 31 but the number of cases has increased rapidly after the waiver.

For some time now, corona-positive patients have been experiencing no corona symptoms. Random sampling tests were conducted in the country in which those who reported positive corona were also found to be healthy and without any symptoms in 69 per cent of the cases. In such a case, there was a dilemma whether to admit the patients to the hospital or discharge them. It was also important to clarify when and under what circumstances to discharge.

The health of the country has decided a discharge policy in this regard. According to this policy, patients who do not show symptoms of corona for 10 days will be discharged. It is believed that if no serious symptoms appear for a long time, the infection will not spread. The Ministry of Health has also clarified that patients with normal and mild symptoms of corona virus who have been admitted in a timely manner will undergo regular and thorough check-ups and their body temperature and pulse rate will be recorded. The patient will be discharged in case no special symptoms appear during the 10 day procedure.

However such people will also be advised to stay in isolation for 7 days. This includes people who showed normal symptoms but were not infected with the corona virus. Thus, according to the revised discharge policy of the Ministry of Health, in case of no symptoms after discharge after 10 days of treatment and observation, discharge will be given. The decision will allow more corona positives to be treated at Kovid Hospital.
