There are many types of stress in everyone's life if we want to. Stress is a reaction of our body to situations for which we are not prepared. As mental health awareness grows, people are also looking for ways to identify and alleviate stress.

What is stress?

When we face situations for which our brain is not ready, we respond to it physically, mentally or emotionally. When we are stressed, our brain releases hormones like adrenaline. Excessive stress can make us sick not only mentally but also physically. Stress causes problems in the muscles such as depression, headaches, fatigue and insomnia. Here are some tips to help you manage stress if you want to get rid of stress.

1. Dance

Exercise lowers stress levels in the body and releases happy hormones like endorphins, which makes us feel happy. If you don't like dancing, you can do any exercise of your choice.

2. Take a deep breath

One study found that taking deep breaths reduces stress and negative thoughts. When you focus on the breathing process, your brain comes out of the stressful situation.

3. Music is your best friend

One study found that music lowers the body's cortisol levels and relieves stress. Slow and soft music calms your mind. Not only this, with the help of music you can slow down your heart rate, lower your blood pressure and relax your body.

4. Scent is a stress buster

The scent activates the smell receptors in your nose. These receptors calm the part of the brain that controls emotions. This is called aromatherapy. Aromatherapy is very popular these days.

There have been several studies on this therapy which have found that lavender oil is most effective in relaxing the body and brain. Oil massage, lotions, baths as well as aromatic candles are some of the products available in the market.
