What is a stroke?

Stroke can occur in any part of the body. But strokes are mainly seen to be connected to the heart and brain. A stroke that occurs in the brain is called a brain stroke. This condition causes difficulty in getting blood to the brain, which causes the brain cells to become depleted. A stroke is a condition when one of your limbs suddenly stops working. Excessive intake of sugar and salt can also cause stroke

People who suffer from diabetes, cholesterol, high blood pressure or even being overweight are more likely to suffer from these problems, not only heart related diseases but also stroke. People who consume more sugar, salt and fried foods have a higher risk of stroke. Stroke is a disease that can affect anyone, but men suffer more from this disease.

Pouring water directly on the head also increases the risk of stroke

Did you know that there is a different way to bathe? It can also increase your chances of having a stroke if you are not taking the right bath. We all pour water from the head first while bathing, but this is a bad habit. Doing so can lead to not only stroke but also other illnesses. Because blood flows from top to bottom in the body. If you pour cold water directly on your head, your brain cells will shrink and blood clots will also form. Pouring water directly on the head makes our head cold, in this situation the heart has to send blood upwards quickly. It can lead to heart attack or rupture of a brain vein.

Stroke prevention measures

You should consume more water or fluids throughout the day. One should reduce the amount of salt and fat in one's diet. To prevent stroke, you should include foods rich in vitamins E, C and A in your diet. Consumption of more ginger will be very beneficial as it helps in thinning the blood. Also increase the intake of green leafy vegetables. Blood pressure is also a major cause of brain stroke. That's why you should check your blood pressure regularly. Alcohol and smoking should not be consumed.
