Can remedivir also be banned after plasma therapy in the treatment of corona?

New Delhi, May 16, 2021, Wednesday

The country seems to be relieved by the declining coronavirus infection but millions of patients admitted to hospitals when the second wave was at its peak are undergoing treatment in hospitals. Plasma therapy has been widely discussed and banned. The chairperson of Gangaram Hospital in Delhi believes that a ban on the much-talked-about remedial drug is also being considered. According to the information received, he claimed that experimental drugs, plasma therapy or remedivir are all likely to be excluded from the treatment of corona as there is no evidence of effective results.

Referring to the removal of plasma therapy from the treatment protocol of corona under the advice of the Indian Council of Medical Research, he said that plasma therapy gives us pre-forward antibodies to someone who has already been infected so that they fight the antibody virus. Antibodies are usually formed when the corona virus attacks. Last year it was noticed that giving plasma did not make a significant difference in the condition of the patients. Plasma therapy was started on a scientific basis while stopped on the basis of facts. So far, there is no strong evidence that remedivir injections are effective in treating coronary heart disease. It is therefore possible that such drugs may be removed from the treatment of corona.
