Is steroid treatment responsible for causing myocardial infarction?

New Delhi, May 16, 2021, Saturday

The incidence of corona is also on the rise in the country. This fungal infection is being seen in some patients from states including Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Delhi and Gujarat. In addition to the corona virus, steroids are also thought to be responsible for this fungal infection. AIMS director Randeep Guleria said the new scourge of mucorrhosis was more likely to occur in patients with diabetes, corona-positive and steroid-induced fungal infections, which is why steroid abuse should be prevented. Giving a steroid that has a mild corona infection and oxygen levels are more harmful than beneficial. Earlier there was an infection of black fungus but it was considered rare.

Now those who have high blood sugar, uncontrolled diabetes, low immunity, and cancer patients who are in the chemotherapy stage are more likely to get it. The infection was not usually seen but has increased due to corona. About 3 cases of fungal infection are under treatment in AIIMS in which more than 50 corona are positive while 3 corona are negative. There are also many states where there are more than 200 cases of fungal infections. Black fungal infections occur in the eyes, nose, throat and lungs. Which keeps the light out of the eyes. Symptoms include chest pain and fever, with blood flowing from the nose to the lungs.
