Doctors have warned people about a study showing a connection between alcohol and cancer. According to the study, in the year 2020, more than 7.5 lakh new cases of cancer were reported due to alcohol consumption. Americans, meanwhile, have been found to consume more alcohol.

According to the study, 4% of cancer cases in 2020 have increased due to alcohol consumption alone. Most cases of cancer associated with alcohol consumption were found in people who drank more than 2 drinks a day. This was less than the average of more than a million people worldwide.

Alcohol is a stimulant, according to Dr. David Odell, a thoracic surgeon at Northwestern Medicine. It increases the difficulties for the lining of our mouth, throat, stomach. Our body tries to heal our injuries. But often he tries to cure it in an unusual way so that cancer can start.

About 75% of alcohol-related cancers are reported in men alone. In most cases, alcohol-related cancers have been found to be associated with the liver and the ducts leading from the throat to the stomach. While breast cancer was the most common among women.

The study comes at a time when the epidemic has seen a sharp rise in alcohol consumption. Also last year, during a survey, two-thirds of Americans admitted that their alcohol addiction during the epidemic was higher than before.
