Foods that harm mental health

Caffeine: You have often seen people drink tea or coffee after complaining of a headache. But did you know that high levels of caffeine in tea and coffee can increase stress levels. Instead of tea or coffee, you can drink herbal tea, coconut water, green tea or mint tea to reduce stress.

Salt: Consuming too much salt can also harm your mental health. Salt weakens the body's immune system, leading to fatigue and mental health disturbances.

Refined Carbohydrates : Excessive consumption of refined carbohydrate foods can make a person vulnerable to heart disease, diabetes and obesity. Not only this, excessive consumption of such food also makes a person a victim of mental diseases. In such a situation, avoid or limit consumption of things like white bread, white rice, sugar, syrup, confectionery food, snacks, pasta etc. to maintain your mental health. In a study conducted by the Institute of Mental Health, researchers say that people who consume refined carbohydrates have an increased risk of anxiety and depression.

Added Sugar: Sugary foods can cause mood-related problems along with fluctuating blood sugar levels. In such a situation, all foods such as preserved fruit juices, jams, ketchup and sauces, which are high in sugar, should be avoided.
