If there is a limited amount of cholesterol in the body, there is no problem because it is removed by good cholesterol or high density cholesterol, but when good cholesterol decreases, bad cholesterol increases. A difficult situation for us arises when bad cholesterol builds up and starts entering the arteries through the bloodstream and later blocks the flow of blood.
However, it sticks to the arteries very slowly and takes months or years to block the blood flow, so symptoms are not visible at first, but after some time, cholesterol starts to build up in the arteries surrounding the heart. This requires a lot of caution.
1. The tongue
When the bad cholesterol in the blood starts to increase, there are some signs of this in the tongue. An increase in bad cholesterol can also affect the tongue. In this, small bumps appear on the tongue which gradually get bigger. Cholesterol increases in a way this looks like hair.
2. Hands and feet
When bad cholesterol increases in the body, it causes numbness in hands and feet. Because of this, bad cholesterol reduces the blood flow, due to which the blood supply to the arms and legs begins to decrease. It also changes the color of the veins and can also cause swelling. This also causes a lot of pain. Arms and legs also start getting weak.
3. Skin
As cholesterol increases, the supply of oxygen in the veins starts to decrease. So rash appears on the skin. This can happen in any part of the body.
4. Eyes
A dangerous sign of increased cholesterol is also visible under the eyes. The skin under the eyes is raised. This gives the appearance of puffiness, in which the eyelid begins to accumulate fat, which appears yellow. Some people mistake this for eye problems or skin problems but it is a sign of high cholesterol. This also starts to weaken the eyesight.
5. Nails
Bad cholesterol causes the nails to become discolored. Excess cholesterol can cause the middle part of the nail to split or crack. Due to which dark lines start to form in nails, nails start to become thin and brown in color.
Cholesterol can be reduced in this way
A healthy diet and exercise are essential to keep cholesterol levels down. Even if cholesterol is elevated, it can be lowered with a healthy diet and exercise. For this, limit the intake of processed food, pizza burgers, packaged items etc. Increase the intake of seasonal green vegetables, grains etc. Regular exercise can increase good cholesterol. Good cholesterol can be increased by reducing the intake of fried foods.
