After covid, people became aware and due to this (Health Insurance) the importance of health insurance has increased a lot. However, people are still bothered by a major problem, which is that some hospitals currently do not provide cashless facilities. Insurance regulator is gearing up to eliminate this problem of people buying medical insurance. (IRDAI) 100 percent cashless settlement facility will become operational in the country as soon as the new scheme of IRDAI is implemented.

IRDAI has given the task to this committee

According to a report by ET, the insurance regulator IRDA (Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India) is preparing to ratify the facility of cashless medical insurance settlement in hospitals across the country. For that, the Director asked the Committee on Common Empanelment Process of Hospitals and 100% Cashless to prepare a report. In which this committee has to say how cashless settlement can be implemented in all hospitals in the whole country.

More than 40 crore people will benefit

Currently, the number of people who have medical insurance in India is around 40 crores. If the new scheme of IRDAI is implemented and implemented, these 40 crore people who have medical insurance can directly benefit from it. Apart from this, this arrangement of IRDAI can increase the popularity and buyers of medical insurance in the country and will benefit the overall insurance industry.

How many hospitals are currently providing cashless facility

At present, only about 49 percent hospitals in the country are providing cashless settlement facility. The number of such hospitals is about 25 thousand. Which does not include every hospital in India. However, these figures are not for hospitals, which are part of the Medical Insurance Panel.
