Dengue is also dangerous for the heart

Which is now known as Extended Dengue Syndrome. When dengue affects the heart, there is an increase in heart rate, swelling of the heart muscle. Also, dengue affects the veins of the heart the most, meaning when the heart muscle becomes inflamed, it becomes difficult for the heart to pump blood. If the condition becomes serious, there is also a possibility of heart attack or heart failure.
Cardiac MRI in the treatment of dengue patients
Health experts say that when a dengue patient's ECG report shows some changes, a heart MRI and stress echo test should be done immediately. Also, a study found that about 4.2 percent of hospitalized dengue patients had swelling of the heart muscle. Many times due to carelessness dengue patients don't get their ECG done and in such cases their heart muscles become inflamed due to the effect of the virus. If not treated in time, the patient may suffer a heart attack. Therefore, doctors and health experts advise the patient to undergo heart MRI after dengue.
