According to one study, the inclusion of garlic in the diet can prevent lung infections. A chemical found in garlic kills the germs of cystic fibrosis (a type of genetic disorder that causes infections in the lungs). That is why it is very beneficial to include garlic in the diet to prevent this infection in the lungs.

Garlic contains a compound called allicin. But this is only found in fresh garlic. The compound found in garlic gets mixed during digestion of food and reaches the whole body which benefits our body. Allicin also protects against soil-dwelling germs.

According to a professor at the University of Edinburgh in the UK, the ingredient found in garlic prevents lung infections, so garlic is considered beneficial for the lungs.
