Bike ambulance built by CRPF and DRDO
-Will be useful in remote and Naxalite areas
-The launch will take place in the capital New Delhi tomorrow
New Delhi Dated 18th January 2021 Monday
The bike ambulance was built in a joint effort by the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO). The bike ambulance will be launched in the capital New Delhi tomorrow.
According to a source, the bike will be very useful in remote areas and especially in Naxal areas. People living in remote areas do not have easy access to emergency medical care when they need it. Security personnel on duty in Naxalite areas had difficulty in getting emergency treatment even when they clashed with Naxalites. This bike ambulance will also be useful in mountainous and inaccessible areas.
In addition to the CRPF and DRDO, the Institute of Nuclear Medicine and Allied Sciences made significant contributions to this work.
A CRPF spokesperson said that the injured security personnel had difficulty in getting emergency treatment when they clashed with the Naxals in areas like Bijapur, Sukma and Dantewada. That is why such a facility was urgently needed for a long time. If the injured person does not get immediate treatment, sometimes his condition becomes serious and sometimes such a young man dies prematurely. So the CRPF has been trying for such a facility for a long time. The Department of Nuclear Medicine and Allied Sciences and the DRDO were also informed. Now with the cooperation of these three, the bike ambulance was ready. Wheelchairs or stretchers have been fitted to the rear seat of the bike to take the injured or sick person to the nearest hospital.
The official launch of the bike ambulance will take place on Tuesday, January 19.
