New York, December 30, 2022, Friday

As research on heart disease continues to increase, according to research done in London, heart attack is also related to blood group. People with AB and AB blood types are 9 percent more likely to have a heart attack than those with blood type O. Researchers have also concluded that high levels of von Willebrands factor increase the risk of heart disease.

This factor is a protein that plays a role in blood clotting and is linked to the thrombotic process. In general, it has been observed that people with A blood group have higher cholesterol. Researchers also noticed that the amount of galactin-3 is higher in O blood group holders. According to Tisa Kole of the Medical Center Groningen University in the Netherlands, people with other blood types who do not have blood type O are more likely to have cardiovascular problems and heart attacks. Myocardial infection is also especially high in it.

This new research was first presented at the Heart Failure 2017 and World Congress. The researchers analyzed the data of cardiovascular diseases in patients belonging to group O and other groups. In which the mortality due to events like myocardial infection, coronary artery disease, heart failure, cardiovascular were recorded. Based on this, the researchers suggested that blood type should be considered in the evaluation just as factors such as cholesterol, systolic blood pressure, age, gender are considered in cardiovascular treatment.
