Superfoods are very necessary for us. This helps to protect us from many health problems but are you eating superfoods properly.

Almonds

Almonds are a very nutritious and good snack option, but did you know that soaking them increases their nutritional value? Soaking the almonds in water overnight activates enzymes that help break down the phytic acid. Apart from this, this process increases the presence of essential minerals like zinc and magnesium. Soaking almonds for 12 hours increases the availability of certain nutrients, including vitamin E and magnesium.

Quinoa

Quinoa is a great gluten free grain but many people miss out by washing it before cooking. It naturally contains a bitter coating called saponin that can affect taste and digestion. According to a study, soaking quinoa for a short time effectively removes saponins and improves the quality of ripe quinoa.

Apple

Even today there are many people who peel and eat apples, but doing so does not provide full benefits. Apple peels contain fiber, antioxidants and other beneficial compounds that contribute to overall health. Instead of peeling apples, wash them thoroughly and eat them with the skin on.

Broccoli

Broccoli is best eaten steamed instead of fried, cooked, steamed. Steaming helps retain the optimal amount of vitamin C, folate and antioxidant nutrients. Overcooking broccoli can cause nutrient loss. Steaming broccoli for a short period of time preserves high levels of vitamin C and other antioxidants.

Beans

Canned beans should be avoided as they contain too much sugar and preservatives. Canned beans can be a health hazard. If you want to eat pulses, soak dry pulses overnight in water and cook them to improve digestion.
