Deficiency of this vitamin can cause many problems. Meanwhile, consumption of certain foods can compensate for vitamin B1 deficiency.

Why is vitamin B1 deficiency dangerous?

Vitamin B1 is a water soluble vitamin. This vitamin keeps the body active by converting carbohydrates into energy. Deficiency of vitamin B1 leads to the risk of a disease called beri beri. This disease may have peripheral nervous related disorders. Vitamin B1 deficiency can lead to weight loss and anorexia. Its deficiency can cause memory impairment.

What to eat will cure vitamin B1 deficiency

Green peas

Vitamin B1 deficiency can be overcome by including green peas in the diet. 100 grams of green peas provide 0.282 mg of vitamin B1.

Apart from this, it is also rich in calcium, iron, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, sodium and selenium. According to health experts, green peas can compensate for vitamin B1 deficiency.

Sunflower seeds

Sunflower seeds also contain enough vitamin B1. 100 grams of sunflower seeds contain 0.106 mg of vitamin B1. These seeds contain many essential nutrients including vitamins B2, B3, B6, C, E and K, which work to reduce the risk of serious diseases. Vitamin B1 deficiency can be completed by consuming these seeds.

Apart from this, vitamin B1 is naturally found in grains. Beans, lentils and yogurt are also considered sources of vitamin B1. By including these foods in one's diet, the deficiency of this vitamin can be met and many problems can be avoided.
