You must have heard the names of vitamins A, B, C, D and K, but have you ever heard of vitamin P? Which is known as flavonoids today. These components are not actually vitamins, but are necessary for our body. Many types of fruits, vegetables, tea and cocoa contain flavonoids. These plants act as color deciders in based foods. Also, it protects against UV rays and infections. Know how eating vitamin P rich foods can benefit you.

Vitamin P i.e. bioflavonoids, especially rutin and hesperidin, support healthy blood vessels in the eyes, improving eyesight. Also reduces the risk of serious conditions like cataracts and macular degeneration.

According to research, eating food with vitamin P also benefits our brain. It strengthens memory, increases concentration, and helps overall brain function work better.

Eating foods rich in vitamin P helps the functions of blood vessels, thereby reducing the risk of heart diseases. The number of heart patients in India is very high so they need to eat flavonoids rich foods.

Eating foods rich in vitamin P boosts immunity, thereby reducing the risk of colds, coughs, fevers and other viral illnesses. It contains anti-oxidants that neutralize cell-damaging free radicals.

Certain bioflavonoids have anticancer properties, inhibiting the growth of cancer cells and reducing the risk of certain types of cancer, including breast, lung, and stomach cancer. However, more research is needed in this matter.
